This is the third accession of the papers of Andrew Nelson Campbell. Mr. Campbell was an attorney in Monroe County, W. Va. He served in the Confederate Army and was a graduate of the Washington and Lee University Law School. He represented Monroe County as a Delegate in the State Legislature, 1872, and was a member of the Board of Regents of West Virginia University. The diary, presented to Annie Brewer of Monroe County by James O. B. Kelly in 1887, includes entries by her from December 1886 to August 1888. It notes her social and family life. Brewer gave the diary to her boyfriend, Robert E. Lee Keadle in August 1888, and he wrote in it until 1891.
