Overview Correspondence of a member and president, 1921-1929, of the West Virginia State Board of Control, which directed the financial operations of all state institutions from 1909 to 1933. Most of the letters are between Lakin and Dr. Henry D. Hatfield; subjects include medical and hospital affairs, the Greater Huntington Hospital Association, the Kessler-Hatfield Hospital in Huntington, and applications for political office.
