Roy Bird Cook (1886-1961), Collector, Tavenner Family Papers and Other Material
Papers of Thomas Tavenner and the Tavenner family of western Virginia, including correspondence; memoirs; journals; financial and legal documents; pamphlets; newspapers; and other material. Much of the material in this collection regards the Civil War. The Tavenner family were Confederate sympathizers.

Stonewall Jackson Medal, Records
News clippings, correspondence, and papers which pertain to the Stonewall Jackson Brigade Medal. The bronze medal includes a picture of General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson on the front, and lists the 23 battles in which he participated on the back. The medal was designed by French medalist Arman Auguste Caque, and was authorized by the Confederate Army after General Jackson's death.
Stonewall Jackson Statue, Prospectus for Fund Raising
Prospectus for raising funds to create a sculpture of Stonewall Jackson by a committee from Great Britain (England). Includes description of project and its finances, and a listing of committee members. The treasurer of the committee was A.J.B. Beresford-Hope, a wealthy member of Mid-Victorian British Society who was a supporter of the Confederacy.

Note authored by Thomas Jonathan Jackson (more commonly referred to as "Stonewall" Jackson) at Sharpsburg, Maryland, dated 16 September 1862, to a "Miss Fairfield" thanking her for the hospitality of breakfast. The original is filed in the Rare Signature Collection, A&M 435.
