The correspondence of a Baltimore editor and author of prominence as a Southern historian during the inter-war years. Matthew Page Andrews (1879-1947) was born in Shepherdstown, being the nephew of the famous southern writer, Thomas Nelson Page. He was the author of Women in the South in War Time, The Tercentenary History of Maryland, Virginia, The Old Dominion, A History of the United States and The American's Creed and Its Meaning.
