Matthew Page Andrews (1879-1947) was born in Shepherdstown, being the nephew of the famous southern writer, Thomas Nelson Page. He was the author of Women in the South in War Time, The Tercentenary History of Maryland, Virginia, The Old Dominion, A History of the United States and The American's Creed and Its Meaning.
