Overview

Photocopied excerpts of the family Bible of Frederick (1793-1858) and Susannah Longstreth (1800-1880) VanGilder, including family genealogy and history. Birth, marriage, and death records of the twelve children of Frederick and Susannah are included, although incomplete. There is also a two page family history narrative by Todd and Connie Tennant VanGilder, and a copy of the "VanGilder Ancestors" from "The History of Marion County" (1985).

Overview The papers of Colonel William McCleery of Morgantown, a Revolutionary War veteran, attorney, county clerk, prosecuting attorney, representative from Monongalia County to the Federal Constitutional Convention, founder of the Presbyterian Church in Morgantown, and landholder and purchasing agent.
