One photo album containing 1 memorial card and 23 cabinet card portraits (almost all unidentified) of apparently members of the Coffinbarger family of Berkeley and Jefferson County, West Virginia. There are portraits most probably of Mary Coffinbarger (1800-1886) and her son James H. Coffinbarger (1828-1909). There is apparently positive identification of a portrait of Bessie Coffinbarger (1874-?), daughter of James H. Coffinbarger. Other photographs include eight loose unidentified portraits, two loose homestead photos (one of which is identified as childhood home of Mabel Coffinbarger Strickland, 1898-1980), and a loose photo of buildings in ruins. All prints are mounted on cards, labelled with the names and locations of photography studios, and date from ca. 1880-1910. There is also a loose memorial card for James H. Coffinbarger, three Victorian gift tags, and news clippings regarding Mabel Coffinbarger Strickland. (Album measures 9 x 11 1/2 inches, with bas relief floral design on burgundy cover, page edges tinted in gold, and pastoral scenes illustrating some pages.).
