Six account ledgers belonging to Manliffe Hayes from 1851 to 1876. Account books document goods and services rendered by Hayes and the cost for each item. Goods and services chiefly concern the boarding and care of horses and wagons and include related items such as feed, hay, collars, and blankets. Collection also includes a ledger from the Morgantown Municipal Court from 1873 to 1903 that records complaints and settlements.

Manliffe Hayes boarded horses and wagons in Morgantown, West Virginia, in the mid-nineteenth century. His daughter, Mary Amelia Hayes, married Dr. Thomas Edward Hodges in 1882.
