Second Class Postmaster's Account and Cash Books (Nitro, WV) from 1950 to 1955. These seven ledgers account for an individual day's business as well as quarterly totals for both debits and credits for the postmaster from 1950 to 1955. Debits include such expenses as money orders issued, stamped and metered postage, box rents, and fees. Credits include items such as postmaster salaries, delivery service, rents, fuel and utilities, and deposits. These were the books of Russell W. Casto, postmaster for Nitro, West Virginia.
