Eustace Chilton, and a number of employees of the Charleston Gazette; topics of discussion include personal matters and business affairs of the family, business of the Charleston Gazette, business of the U.S. Senate, Prohibition, the Depression, the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Democratic Party issues and strategies, among other subjects; there are original cartoons by popular comic strip artists drawn for William E.
