Occupational Formaldehyde Exposure Risk Case Materials, 1979-1988

 Box — Box: 181

Scope and Contents

This box contains documents related to court proceedings regarding formaldehyde exposure as an occupational hazard. JDM represented ACTWU (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union) in his role at the OSHLC. The DC Circuit Court and the US Supreme Court reviewed employee risk and proposed protections, including the Medical Removal Protection (MRP) mentioned in the donor's notes. (These are benefits offered to employees who have been removed from the workplace for medical reasons due to exposure.) Other organizations involved include NIOSH, OSHA, NCI (National Cancer Institute), and various other workers' unions. [This is great!]
