Kemp maintained research materials about cement and concrete. This box includes research notecards and his bibliography History of Concrete, 30 B.C. to 1926 A.D.: Annotated. The box also includes facsimile book excerpts and facsimile reports. Subjects include concrete, natural cement, limestone, lime, hydraulic cement, and mortar. Highlights include Thomas Hahn’s dissertation, “The Industrial Archeology of the Shepherdstown, West Virginia Site as a Case Study of the Natural Cement Industry of the Upper Potomac Valley.”
