Series 1.) Historical Information; box 1, folder 1; undated; includes biographical and genealogical information concerning Dr. Jasper Allen Moyers and his descendants. Persons of note include Dr. Moyers (1872-1940), his wife Minnie Austin Matthias Moyers (1880-1941), their older son Raymond Moyers, younger son Roald Moyers, and daughter Theda Moyers Mallow.

Series 2.) Correspondence -- Dr. Moyers; box 1, folder 2 to box 3, folder 2; 1890-1946; personal correspondence between Dr. Moyers and his family and friends; includes: letters from Minnie Austin Matthias (Moyers) to Dr. Moyers prior to their marriage (1896-1900); letters from Dr. Moyers to his son Raymond, concerning Raymond's academic performance and finances (1907-1931); records and correspondence, mostly between Theda and Roald, regarding the death and estates of Dr. Moyers and his wife (1940-1941); legal and financial documents and various pieces of ephemera are mixed in with correspondence.

Series 3.) Correspondence -- Businesses in Harrisonburg; box 3, folders 3 - 5; 1920-1968; correspondence between Dr. Moyers and Harrisonburg businesses, fellow doctors, and patients regarding the condition of patients and their prescribed treatment.

Series 4.) Family Photographs; box 4, folders 1 - 6; 1862-1978; includes photographs of Dr. Moyers, his family, and their relatives and descendants; the majority of photographs are identified but undated; types of photographs in the series include mounted photographs, prints from glass plates, and film negatives.

Series 5.) Papers of Raymond Moyers; box 5, folder 1 to box 6, folder 5; 1919-1946; includes love letters written by Jessica Moore (1925), Goldie Judy (Raymond's first wife, 1919-1929), and other girlfriends (ca. 1920- ca. 1940); correspondence regarding his legal troubles, including debt and automobile accidents (1923-1941); and newspaper clippings and correspondence regarding his suicide after killing his second wife (1946).

Series 6.) Telephone Company Records; box 7, folders 1 - 2; 1902-1976; includes correspondence regarding the Pendleton Company (the first telephone service provider in Pendleton County, W. Va.) from W.B. Anderson to John L. Obaugh (1903-1910); correspondence and other records regarding the Ft. Seybert and Brandywine Mutual Telephone Company to Dr. Moyers (1902-1916); and correspondence regarding other telephone companies in Pendleton County (1938-1976).

Series 7.) Patient Ledgers; box 7, folders 3 - 7 and box 8, folder 4; 1905-1939; includes six patient ledgers kept by Dr. Moyers, in which he recorded patient names, treatment dates, prescriptions, and billings. Ledgers cover the years 1905-1911 (box 8, folder 4), 1926, 1927, 1928-1929, 1930-1932, and 1935-1939.

Series 8.) Scrapbook; box 8, folder 3; 1916 - 1931; includes a scrapbook kept by Theda Moyers Mallow which contains photographs, letter and cards, and clippings; some of the material is about Franklin High School.

Series 9.) Certificate; box 8, folder 1; 1939; includes a certificate of membership awarded to Mr. Moyers by the Rockingham Memorial Hospital of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Series 10.) Artifacts; box 7, folder 8 and box 8, folder 2; undated; includes three rings; the one marked RRM belonged to Raymond Moyers and the other two belonged to Wilda Nelson Taylor, Moyer's second wife whom he murdered (box 7, folder 8). A flat paper fan attached to a wooden stick advertising Dr. S.B. Johnson's Drug Store in Franklin, W. Va. (box 8, folder 2).

Series 11.) Glass Plate Negatives; box 9; undated; includes a set of twenty four glass plate negatives, some of which are reproduced and indentified in the Family Photographs series.

Series 12.) Oversize; oversize folder; 1931; one poster (20 in. x 25 in.) for advertising a "goodwill prize distribution" of "12 brand new Fords" (automobiles) featuring illustrations of automobiles.

Please note that the order of the collection has been retained in the order that it was received.

The collection includes personal and business correspondence, photographs, artifacts, and ephemera.
