Other highlights include three wood relief carvings by Brooke's son, Henry St. George Brooke; a Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee bulletin; and Anne Washington Brooke's application to the Virginia Society of the Colonial Dames of America (undated), which records her ancestors, including Augustine and Lawrence Washington.
An addendum of 2017/02/06 includes original letters written by Tucker Brooke from 1901-1905, photocopies of letters written between 1898-1907, and digital transcriptions of letters from 1898-1906. These letters span the years that Brooke was a fellow at the University of Chicago and a Rhodes Scholar in Oxford, England. Topics discussed in the letters include Brooke's studies, classes, and professors, his leisure activities, and his travels in Europe, among other subjects.

Charles Frederick Tucker Brooke was born on June 4, 1883 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He died in New Haven, Connecticut in 1946. He studied at West Virginia University (A.B. 1901, M.A. 1902), where he was class poet and a member of Kappa Alpha. He also studied at the University of Chicago (1903-1904) and at St. John's College, Oxford University (B.A. and B.Litt. 1906) as a Rhodes Scholar. Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship in 1904, he was a member of the first group of Rhodes Scholars from around the world. Brooke was an author, literary scholar, and educator, teaching in Yale University's English Department from 1909-1946. He published works on English literature and drama, including studies of Marlowe, Shakespeare, and Gager.
Brooke married Grace Drakeford in Charles Town, WV, on July 27, 1909. They had three children, Elizabeth Grace Tucker Blackburn, Henry St. George Brooke, and Alfred Drakeford Brooke. Elizabeth married George Stebbins Blackburn in 1932.
