Scope and Contents

Six letters to Boardman at Broadway, New York City, regarding ejectment suits and the sale of his land along French and Hacker creeks, Lewis Co., (W)Va. Three letters are written by James Pindall, Congressman, and Boardman's counsel, from Washington City and Clarksburg, (W )Va. Other correspondents are William Hacker, Job Thayer, and Robert Young, of French Creek settlement, a New Englander who was ejected from I Boardman's land, and who pleads the case for his countryman, who "will cultivate the mountains," Whereas "Virginians will not settle on it as they want Bottom Land."
