Papers of Hugh Evans (1769-1873) of Preston County, West Virginia, and Charles W. Evans (1867-1952) of Taylor County and Marion County, West Virginia. Hugh Evans, founder of Evansville, was grandfather of Charles. Includes correspondence and financial papers of Hugh Evans (1829-1844), and essays by Charles from his time at Fairmont State Normal School and West Virginia University (1887-1891, undated).
