The West Virginia University Scientific Society was established in 1914. Its members were chiefly male faculty in the sciences, including zoology, geology, biology, botany, physics, and mathematics, at the university. This typescript contains society meeting minutes from 1914 to 1934 and was made from the original minutes contained in several record books in May and June 1934. Meeting minutes provide information about the society's membership; constitution; officers; committee members and appointments; financial reports; and research. It primarily consists of descriptions of lectures and papers presented at the meetings, providing the names of speakers, paper titles, and sometimes brief descriptions of the programs.
