SPOKES, Senior Women's Service Honorary, was a student organization at West Virginia University established in 1959 to develop and promote spirit and service to the university among women students and alumnae. Collection contains the official records of SPOKES, and documents the creation and operation of the group, which was supervised by the Dean of Women. Materials include inquiry to and responses from other universities about similar groups; petition for university recognition; letter of approval; the SPOKES constitution; information about membership; Link Day program and songs; meeting minutes from 1957 to 1958; financial records from 1961 to 1965 (correspondence, receipts of dues and lists of disbursements, bank statements, and canceled checks); and the presidents'; reports from 1959 to 1964. It appears that the organization was disbanded after the 1964-1965 school year.
