Correspondence of Elizabeth Kee, who served in the House of Representatives from 1951 to 1964, and her son James, who served from 1965 to 1972. The correspondence deals entirely with welfare cases, Social Security, and veterans' problems.
This collection includes social security numbers within the constituent mail, so it is restricted for 75 years after the date of record creation. Users may complete the Agreement for the Use of Restricted Materials to request access to these materials prior to the expiration of the restriction.
Constituent correspondence (issue mail) found in legislative collections can be used in the aggregate to illustrate a theme, or in such a way that individual correspondents are not identified. Individuals writing in an official capacity and/or as representatives of businesses or organizations may be identified. Correspondence may not be copied or digitized without redaction of PII.
