Papers of conservationist Helen McGinnis regarding wilderness preservation. McGinnis was a noted conservationist working for a time at the United States National Museum of Natural History, she was also a dedicated member of the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy. The majority of the material regards the Dolly Sods Wilderness; other subjects include the Otter Creek Wilderness, Cranberry Wilderness, Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob. Types of records include articles, news clippings, manuscripts, correspondence, maps, trail guides, and legal documents.
