Content Description

Broadcast of 14 June 1942 of student talent competition on "The Texaco Star Theater" starring comedian Fred Allen. A West Virginia University student won during this particular broadcast. It was part of a series of shows during the 1941-1942 season where students, selected by student bodies at colleges and universities, would compete in a talent show. They would travel to New York as Fred Allen's guest, perform, and be paid a salary for the week. [From information provided by the donor.]
