Five bound volumes of transcriptions of the original letters in the Robinson family collection, A&M 2662, dating from ca. 1847-1883. Each transcription is assigned a unique number, and these numbers correspond to the numbers assigned to each letter in A&M 2662. This collection is likely a complete set of transcriptions. The volumes also include some biographical and genealogical information, and an index.
Most of the letters are to Helen M. Robinson of Fetterman, Taylor County, West Virginia, from relatives and friends. Subjects discussed include housekeeping, fashions, farming, schools, religion, and the Civil War from both the Confederate and Union perspectives. There are frequent, specific references to the political and military state-of-affairs in the upper Ohio Valley region.
There are also digital copies of the transcriptions. The transcription work itself is undated.
