DVD containing digital copies of pages from the hotel register of the Keller Hotel of Romney, West Virginia for the period 1854-1909 (incomplete). The register book pages list the guests' names and check-in dates. The pages may also list the guests' home residence and/or room number. In some cases, financial information is also included, such as how much each guest paid, and calculations of the hotel’s total revenue. The collection also includes scans of black-and-white photos of the hotel and separate scans of headers from hotel register stationery, as well as historical information regarding the Keller Hotel.
Register pages are extant for the following years: 1854-1859, 1864, 1866-1870, 1872-1878, 1882-1909. Only partial records are extant for the years 1867-1869.
Of particular interest among the persons who registered at the hotel are William Jennings Bryan (1896), William McKinley (1896), Carrie Nation (1907), and Margaret Vanderbilt (1907).

The Keller Hotel in Romney, West Virginia, began as the Armstrong House on Lot 86. It may have been built around 1800. In 1848, it was purchased by Thomas A. Keller. During the time it was owned by the Keller family, it was known as either the Keller House or Keller Hotel. The name was later changed to the Century Hotel. The building was sold and then torn down in 1913 and replaced by the New Century Hotel, which opened in 1915. [Adapted from historichampshire.org.]
