Records of the Raleigh General Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association, which consisted of 145 nurses who graduated from the Raleigh General School of Nursing in Beckley between 1928 and 1951, some of whom were members of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps who volunteered for service in World War II. Materials include graduation programs, photographs, newspaper clippings, and more. Also includes two nurses caps and other artifacts.
Also includes photographs, printed ephemera, and other material regarding Jacqueline Tackett Beard, the former recordkeeper of the Alumnae Association, and artifacts, printed ephemera, photographs, and more depicting Madalene Vaughan's career as a nurse at Raleigh General Hospital and Dr. Paul E. Vaughan's career as a nursing instructor and surgeon at Raleigh General Hospital.
