Includes signed books and photographs donated by David Selby, an actor and writer originally from West Virginia. There is one copy of Selby’s 2005 autobiographical “photo-journey book,” titled In and Out of the Shadows, which he autographed and signed “Go WVU!” There is also a copy of his 2010 autobiographical and historical reflection on the 1960s-1970s television show, Dark Shadows, titled My Shadowed Past, which he autographed and signed “Thank you West Virginia U.” The collection also includes four photographs, all of which feature Selby in his Quentin Collins/Dark Shadows costume. One is signed only with Selby’s signature, another is signed and addressed “To W.V.U.,” and the other two are duplicate photographs, both autographed and addressed “to W.V.U. & Dark Shadows Fans.”

David Selby is an actor and writer best known for his role as Quentin Collins on the ABC television show Dark Shadows that aired from 1966 to 1971. He is a native of Morgantown, West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University. At WVU, Selby completed his B.S. and M.A. degrees, and he received his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. He has been recognized as a distinguished alumnus of West Virginia University and has received a Life Achievement Award from the WVU College of Creative Arts.
