Newspaper clippings regarding West Virginia University, chiefly cut from various newspapers in West Virginia from 1949 to 1952. Clippings are very loosely organized according to town and in chronological order, and document all types of news and events at the university. Topics include reports on events (lectures, conferences, University Day, West Virginia day), new faculty and administrative hires, academics (scholarships, the medical school, various academic departments, the library, the agricultural school), and student affairs and organizations. Some articles also note connections between town and county residents and activities and the university. Clippings come from newspapers in several towns and counties, including Beckley, Bluefield, Charleston, Fairmont, Huntington, Martinsburg, Parkersburg, Point Marion, Roane County, Weirton, and Weston.
