This series includes article clippings pertaining to the Forest Festival and coal mining/exhibits. Materials include pages from "Monongahela News" and "Mining Congress Journal," articles about coal mining, and articles about coal exhibits at the Forest Festival.

Scope and Contents Included in this series are news releases from the Upper Monongahela Valley Association. These releases discuss industrial exhibits (coal and coal products, wood and wood products, and glass, etc.) that were displayed at the Forest Festival. Included in this series are four issues of the Mountain State Forest Festival program. These programs are from 1933, 1937, 1938, and 1939. Each program booklet includes pictures of the Festival's Queen Silvia court, times and dates of Festival events, and advertisements for businesses in Elkins, West Virginia and other state businesses.
