Correspondence to and from J. Arthur Butcher, Concord College, Athens, W.Va., relating to an appeal through newspapers by Mr. Butcher to collect historical data for the centennial in 1963.

Scope and Contents Correspondence, reports, financial records, and minutes of the West Virginia Centennial Commission from 1958-1964. This material was obtained for the Library by Festus P. China plate memorializing the West Virginia Sesquicentennial. It measures 9 inches in diameter by 1 1/2 inches high. Its face is decorated with a state seal in blue and gold; its rim is ornamented with blue and gold trim. The plate was produced as a limited edition special design by the Homer Laughlin China Company of Newell, West Virginia.

Scope and Contents This collection includes broadcast recordings on cassette tapes, publications, scrapbooks, photographs, and other records and papers pertaining to West Virginia University Athletics Communications Office and their published works mainly regarding WVU football, men's basketball, and baseball.
