Overview Three land grants from the United States General Land Office to George S. Pigott, for the state of West Virginia, dated 1867. Each document grants 160 acres to Pigott as part of the Morrill Act of 1862. The Morrill Act provided each state with 30,000 acres of Federal land for each member in their Congressional delegation.
