Scrapbook of photographs kept by Herbert S. Thomas, an engineer of the Norfolk and Western Railroad, regarding construction of the Railroad's Ohio Extension along the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River between Welch and Kenova, West Virginia. The length of this extension is about 140 miles and was built between 1889 and 1893, according to a notebook kept by Thomas (which is not in the collection).
