Overview Genealogies compiled by Kenneth M. Taylor of the Taylor and Hyre (Heyer) families, primarily the latter. The Hyre family is traced back to the birth of Hans Heyer in Benken, Switzerland. The family came to America when Leonard (born 1695) disembarked at Philadelphia in 1737 and settled his family in what is now Grant Co., WV.
