 Series — Multiple Containers

Scope and Contents

There are a number of hardcover and softcover books, some of which contain writing by the family. The two small hardcover books are Martin Luther’s Catechism (1872 and 1886) and the other small hardcover is The English Reader (1848). Undated books include Dr. Myers’ Medical Adviser and a book by Herman Dieck on the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, flood. Another book is The First Annual Report of the Commission of Labor (Washington, DC, 1886) owned by Hayden Hulver, who glued some news clippings inside. This series includes a small softcover book that belonged to Hayden’s son, George B. Hulver, which has signatures and advice given by friends and family (1889-1895) and a small bank account book (1927-1941) owned by George Hulver's wife, Christena "Tena" (Baughman) Hulver. There is also an 1898 Farmer’s Manual and Account Book (Box 6).
