The petition of the inhabitants of the counties of hardy, Hampshire and Shenandoah humbly sheweth, that in the year 1785, the legislature of this state enacted a law; abolishing the right of the late Lord Fairfax... and prescribing rules and regulations... paying all demands required by the state... and the heirs and representatives of Fairfax have instituted suits... if relief is not afforded, your fellow-citizens will be driven from their homes by suits to take away their property honestly acquired... etc. Xerox Copy Purchase Va.
