Index Card Notes: To the honorable the [sic] General Legislature of Virginia: the memorial of a number of the inhabitants of the county of Berkeley, humbly sheweth: that they are informed, a petition will be preferred [sic] to the General Assembly, for a division of the said county at Opaquing Creek--that the party praying complain of the distance from the court house and the money expended in their resort there to, both on public and private business... three-fourths of the people of the county live within 12 miles of the public buildings... etc. Xerox Copy Purchase.
