Index Card Notes: To the Legislature of Viginia: Your memorialists, inhabitants of Harrison County, respectfully represent that your honorable body will pass an act to incorporate a Co., to be called the Monongahela Navigation Co., with the right to demand and receive tolls as may be fixed by law for building locks and cutting a canal from the Buckhannon River to Elk Creek and divert a part of its waters into the latter stream ... etc.
