Index Card Notes: To the honorable the general assembly of VA., the memorial of the undersigned, citizens of Harrison, respectfully represented, request your attention to this their petition which has the recommendations of the governor and the engineer of the state, who made the survey our the country between the valley and the Ohio River... Your memorialists have felt for a long time the need of a good road passing from the town of Winchester in the county of Frederick, to some point on the Ohio River opposite Marietta, or between that point and the town of Parkersburg, or at Parkersburg... etc.
