Index Card Notes: To the honorable Senate and House of Delegates of Virginia now in session: Your memorialists, citizens of Brooke County, have gotten up a petition to be laid before your honorable bodies, praying that a new county not be erected from the upper part of Brooke owing to the improper location of the county seat... We are opposed to so small a territory being erected into a new county.
