Index Card Notes: To the general assembly of Virginia. The undersigned citizens of Monongalia County, represent to your honorable body, that an passed concerning delinquent lands, which provides, among other things... That all lands lying on the Western waters returned delinquent in the year 1821 or any year subsequent thereto, shall, on the first day of Nov. 1833, be absolutely forfeited and vested in the commonwealth, unless the taxes and damages as aforesaid be paid before that time... Your petitioners pray your honorable body, either to [repeal], or amend the said law, in such manner as to place the collection of taxes and the enforcement thereof, in the said county of Monongalia, on the footing generally provided for the collection of taxes levied on lands lying on the Eastern waters of the state.
