Index Card Notes: To the honorable the senate and house of delegates of VA. In the general assembly met. The memorial of the undersigned inhabitants of Ohio County respectfully represents, that on Dec. 8th 1832, an act was passed by the legislature selecting commissioners to select a county seat for Ohio Co. They selected Elizabethtown and laid out and obtained the ground for said purpose. But the court, under bias for the interest of Wheeling, have evaded the compliance with the law, in omitting to make the required appropriations. Thus the authority of the legislature has been defeated by the magistrates of the county... We solicit your honorable body to uphold your laws against infraction and carry into effect the act passed the 8th day of Dec. 1832...etc.
