Index Card Notes: To the legislature of Virginia: Your petitioners, citizens of the county of Hampshire would respectfully represent to you that they have ever been in favor of a liberal system of internal improvement, to be adopted by the state and hope the plans be carried out... we would ask you to authorize two roads which would be of benefit to the state -- the first is from the tone of Romney through the towns of Springfield and Frankfort, 27 miles, and the other one is from the town of Moorefield...to the 7 mile stone, west of Romney, on the N.W. road... a distance of 20 miles...etc.
