Index Card Notes: To the general assembly of Virginia. The memorial of the undersigned, citizens of Marshall County respectfully represents, that we have observed with interest the introduction of a proposition for the improvement of the state... your memorialists believe that a road from Clarksburg to the Ohio River at Wheeling would obviate many of our difficulties of trade and travel... the direct rout from Wheeling to Richmond is through Clarksburg... your memorialists pray the construction of a road from Wheeling to Clarksburg similar to the one now in progress from Clarksburg to Parkersburg...etc.
