Index Card Notes: To the Senate and House of Delegates of the General Assembly of Virginia: The Memorial of the undersigned, citizens of the state, and for the most part of Jefferson Co. near the Shenandoah River, respectfully represent-- that for some months past a notice has been inserted in the public print, that "an application would be made to the next Legislature of the state for a charter to make a railroad from the Little's Falls, on the Shenandoah River in Jefferson Co., to intersect the B&O near the old furnace in said county, with the condition to stop at, or intersect, the Winchester and Potomac Railroad at or near Keyes' Switch." Your memorialists pray the General Assembly to pass a law chartering a company for the purpose heretofore declared. [1847 Jany 5-Jefferson County]
