Index Card Notes: To the general assembly of Virginia: The Undersigned citizens of Kanawha County Respectfully Represent to your honorable body, that the public convenience and prosperity, as well as their own would be greatly promoted by the erection of a bridge across elk river...etc...The Charleston and Point Pleasant turnpike road crosses Elk River, at the point where the proposed bridge would be erected...etc...the undersigned pray that a joint stock company be incorporated by an act of law, to build a toll bridge across Elk River in the county of Kanawha, at or near the Charleston and Point Pleasant Road now terminate.
