Index Card Notes: To the honorable legislature of Virginia: The undersigned citizens of Hancock County, most respectfully represent that after an act of creating Hancock out of the Northern part of Brooke the dispute is over the location of the county seat...etc....We the undersigned say that New Manchester is better than Holiday's cove...etc...we pray your honorable body to pass a law confirming and permanently fixing the seat of justice for this county at the town of New Manchester.
