Index Card Notes: To the general assembly of Virginia--The undersigned, citizens of Monongalia county, respectfully petition your honorable body to pass an act authorizing the county court of said county, to subscribe, for and on behalf of said county, the sum of $10,000.00 as stock in the Monongahela Slackwater improvement...And that said county be authorized to issue bond or bonds for same payable in 20 years, and that said money not expended unless the Pennsylvania company extend their improvement to the Virginia Line.
