Your petitioners, inhabitants, and voters, of the county of Kanawha, respectfully represent: that they feel themselves, and consider the people of Virginia, greatly aggrieved and inured by the traffic in ardent and other intoxicating liquors:...Your petitioners pray your honorable body to enact a law, prohibiting within this commonwealth, the sale or barter of any intoxicating liquor, except for sacramental, medicinal or mechanical uses, under such penalties...as will make the law effectual...and that the law shall have been submitted to the voters of Virginia, at the polls...etc. Xerox Copy Purchase.
