The petition of the undersigned citizens of the county of Berkeley respectfully represent: that during the session of the year 1853-4 a special act was passed to provide for the construction and keeping the public roads in repair in the county of Berkeley...after the laws adoption the increase in taxes was enormous without any corresponding benefit in the condition of our roads, they are worse...we ask your honorable body to repeal said act.
