We the undersigned petitioners, Citizens of Shepherdstown, Jefferson County Va., beg leave to respectfully to pray your honorable body to re-establish our court known as the court of justice such as it was in 1817 and 1818 and prior to that is as by reference to the session acts of those years will more fully appear, said court to have authority to issue licenses, record deeds, wills, &C., and try any civil suits that may be brought in said court...
