Index Card Notes: To the honorable the senate and house of delegates of the state of Virginia: the memorial of the undersigned, citizens of Brooke and Hancock Counties, respectfully sets fourth, that the interests of these several counties will be materially promoted by the passage of an act, incorporating a rail road from where the Pittsburg and Steubenville Rail Road Co.'s road touches this state, to the Ohio river, opposite the city of Steubenville. and by incorporating a bridge co., with power to construct a railroad bridge over the Ohio river, at or near the city of Steubenville to connect the said railroad with the Steubenville and Indiana Railroad...These improvements will all be carried on without asking aid from the state as soon as the necessary charters are obtained therefor, it will be but just to these sections of our Commonwealth to grant suitable charters for the furtherance of the objects proposed.
