Notice that the Confederate Army has come to liberate the country from the enemy and pretended state government at Wheeling. See verse. The sixth line of text in the original ends "intend to" counterfeit ends "intended" At the end of the text "Chief of Staff" in the original is in the same type as used in body; and is in leaded italics in the counterfeit.
