Call out & arm all the militia you can raise there is no doubt but the rebel's are determined to recapture Western Virginia I have only one regiment here the eighty 84 fourth Ohio & their time has expired & they say they will leave tomorrow at nine 9 oclock I have the second 2nd Maryland and a raw New York" On reverse: "Regt the second 2nd Maryland I will be obliged to order here tomorrow to supply the place of the eighty fourth 84th see important dispatch to Mr. Ford BF Kelley Brig Genl 82z328pd", 1862/09/12
